Ronnie's (Almost) Ruined Ride

I wanted to submit what happened to me in what was suppose to be a great reason to ride (Harley-Davidson of St. Petersburg(Jims)) toy run. This took place on 12-7-08. There were over 1900 motorcycles and over 2300 total riders involved. All it took was one to make it not so great for me. An inconsiderate I hope rookie on a motorcycle.

The ride started at the dealership and was going along fine until a guy on a motorcycle decided that he wanted to start somewhere else. So he decides to cut in. He has a child on the back. We're going about 55 mph and he comes out of a store parking lot and decides that 15 foot is enough room to come into line. Needless to say I had to hit the brakes to keep from hitting him and cause a major disaster, since I was in the first 100 bikes and over 1800 behind me. Then he decides to start slingshotting. Slow down, big gap, speed up. This went on until I had to move from behind him, because my wife was on the back of mine and she was doing everything to calm me down. There were words that come from my mouth that I think I created. First, because of what he did to me and what could of happened to alot of others, but because he also had a child on the back of his and had no regards for no one's safety.

There are a couple of reasons I wanted to share this story with everyone is that it was a great ride and alot of money and  toys were raised and second of all for all of us to remember that it isn't only cars that cut us off, but all the inconsiderate and unsafe people out there no matter what there driving.
